“The Gift of Life” cancer treatment fund brand refresh and new website
When the cancer treatment support fund “The Gift of Life” turned to Velvet, their main concern was clear: donating through the old website was complicated and felt very distant from the people it helped.
The previous solution required donations to be made manually. Think about copy-pasting the billing number into your online bank account. The whole process was time-consuming and inconvenient, to say the least.
Additionally, the stories of those in need were shared on social media and lacked a home on the website, making the communication around something so thoroughly personal and sensitive impersonal. What is more, they were fully dependent on social media’s algorithms and beyond the fund’s control.
To start off on the right foot, we refreshed the brand elements. A bright orange paired with soft complementary beige and refined, intuitive illustrations gave the fund’s team practical tools for building a recognizable and tasteful brand.
The website was designed with users’ needs in mind: the system is intuitive, fast, and easy to use. Unlike many other charities, donors here can choose exactly the person or cause their contribution supports.
The fund also regained something invaluable – its stories. No longer scattered across social media feeds, the stories of the campaign heroes are now gathered on the fund’s website.
The result is a trustworthy and convenient platform for donors and an effective tool for the fund to carry out its mission and create even greater good.
