Digital Product Design Lead

  • Solve complex business problems across a variety of industries.

  • Collaborate with teammates of different backgrounds (service designers, researchers, graphic and ui designers, strategists, developers and producers) to develop holistic design solutions for our clients.

  • Translate abstract concepts and requirements into beautiful digital products.

  • Develop high level and/or high fidelity mockups as well as interactive prototypes.

  • Know when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches.

  • Focus on the end-user and aspire to learn everything you can about their values, behaviours, attitudes, emotions, to define the products and experiences you create.

  • Lead the product design process for one client, from concept to optimization. You’ll be hands on designing every day, while mentoring other designers and working directly with the Velvet team and our partners.


  • Autonomous. You’ll take full ownership of your work, and you take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way.

  • A hands-on designer. You’ve shipped consumer products and understand what it takes to take elegant experiences from concept to shipment.

  • A great communicator. You understand how to articulate to a client how a product should work and why it should work that way.

  • A Practitioner. Continuously sketching concepts, tweaking flows or polishing the designs that represent the big-thinking work.

  • Experienced in leading user testing to validate your design decisions.

  • Highly organised and efficient.

  • Calm under pressure.


  • 5+ years of experience shipping digital products.

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, pen and paper.

  • Excellent visual standards and obsessive attention to detail.

  • Experience working closely with engineers on technical projects.

  • A deep understanding in Human Centred Design methods and tools.
